Mike & Melissa have become some of my favorite clients.

We met for the first time in mid-October, the week before their anniversary trip to Hot Springs Arkansas. What a wonderful way to celebrate their last anniversary as a family of two! The truly are two of the sweetest people I have ever met, and I'm so happy to call them friends now, not just clients.

They were so excited to find out they were pregnant. They had been trying to get pregnant for a while and prayed for their own little miracle.

They kept their pregnancy a secret at first, but in July, Mike & Melissa couldn't keep the good news to themselves anymore. They were excited they were expecting a baby girl!

Melissa wanted to hire a birth photographer to capture every detail. The most important detail she wanted to capture was the look on Mike's face when he saw his daughter for the first time.

Melissa was a little nervous, but no more than any other first-time expectant mother. She decided to hire doula Lindsay Johnson to help her through the process. At that point, it was just a matter of hurry up and wait.

Mike & Melissa didn't have to wait long! After two days of hospital monitoring, Melissa's doctors decided that sweet baby girl needed to make her arrival a bit sooner than planned.

With her doula, her sister, and her ever devoted husband by her side, Melissa labored for 24 hours as the Pitocin worked its magic. She was tired, but when the time came to delivery, Melissa found the strength she needed.

Then, at 12:09 a.m., in the first minutes of a new day, Kennedy Hannah Dowd arrived. She was 6 pounds, 10 ounces, 19.5 inches long, and was the most precious and perfect gift Mike & Melissa could ever have asked for.
